Hey Everyone,
I hope your week has gone well and that the upcoming weekend has plenty of fun things in store for you!
I have decided I am going to do a weekly post called 'Fortunate Friday'. Not so long ago I did they 100 Happy Day Challenge on Instagram. At the time, I was having a pretty tough time with anxiety and paranoia and I found that looking at something that made me happy everyday really helped. I was having counselling at the time, so I'm not going to say it was completely down to having a positive attitude that helped me but it certainly boosted things a lot. I try to be as positive as I possibly can be! I am very much, a glass half full kinda gal.
With that in mind, whether you're going through a bit of a tough time in your life or alternatively, if you're going through a super fantastic chapter in your life, it is always nice to take a step back and look at what you're thankful for. whether it's personal or something in the world.
I think society is quick to tell you about all the bad things and I don't think that's about to change anytime soon, but we can change our perspective. We can look at the bright side of things and if we cannot find one, perhaps try and make one. If you read a story in the news that affects you in someway, why not do something following that? I'm not saying we can change the things we read or are exposed to, but we can change our actions that follow, whether that is a small gesture or a big one. You can hug your loved ones a little harder that day, call someone you haven't spoken to a while, smile at a stranger in the street. Furthermore, you could do something a bit different, put a little more spare change in a charity box that day, you can look into volunteering your time maybe once a week or if you can't do that, maybe at a one off event. Just do something that will not only make you feel good but someone else. That smile may make someones day, that £1 could go towards giving the help to someone in need and that phone call could remind someone that you care.
Today's post has been a little introductory, but next week expect something that makes me feel fortunate. Also, I do love to hear things you feel fortunate for, so please comment below and spread the joy.
Thank you guys, lots of love, Lucy.
